Pisgah, Iowa

Pisgaha is a small town located in western Iowa along Highway 183. This

is a unique little town with a number of friendly people, at first you get the normal, who are you looks but that fades as time passes. We spent a number of short nights in the old school house on the northern side of town. The environment of the school was grand and a bit like stepping back in time. Some of the old pictures hung on the walls, had a small functioning library along with a gym and stage. Some other parts of the building where in use by a few people. As we walked up and down the abandoned halls the sounds of footstep from someone following us could be heard from time to time when we came to as stop and whom ever it was took a few extra steps. As we sat at a table on the third floor in the main hall way you could hear people talking in some of the rooms, a young girl took time out to announce her self with a timed little “Hi”.

The Murder of Gail

A narration of the investigation is just to the right of this text box.

The investigation of this house had  bit of an impact on some of our members at the time. The story of the murder of young woman, along with the suicide of her killer just moments after killing his wife and finding them both in the house after so many years was a bit hard to take. The picture we had of the two of them in one of the rooms of the house was destroyed by our house fire many years ago.

Villisca Ax Murder House, Villisca, Iowa

The Villisca Ax Murder House in Villisca Iowa was an interesting place to go. A bit ran down from lack of being maintained, no heat, no power and no water made it a bit hard to work. The history about the house was a bit nerving to say the least. We worked the house using an extension cord that was plugged into the adjacent building, candles, oil lamps, coats and sweat shirts for several months. We discovered the spirits of several of the victims; Lena Stilinger was the friendliest of them all in my book. She would follow me (Dave) around from room to room. The story is long so I will just talk about it in the narration below in the next section.

Slideshow Pictures of Historic Cemeteries

The pictures to the right have been taken over a number of years; they range from local cemeteries only. Most of the where taken by us and a few where taken off the internet. This is just to give you an idea of what is out there. We will let you decide on what you think is real or fake. We have our opinions about some of them but this is just for your entertainment.
